I have a 1998 corvette. The steering wheel wont unlock. It says service column lock. How do i get it to the dealer without towing it.

You probably can’t get it to the dealer without a flat bed. I had the same problem. The way the dealer fixed it was by breaking the locking mechanism on the steering column. Now it does not lock ever. The dealer said that was the way GM said to “fix” it. Good luck!!

Comments please explain to me why you would need a flatbed? what if the steering wheel is turned? a wrecker would do just fine with the use of dollies…no dragging the front end around to be loaded properly!!

I cannot see why a dealer would permanently disable the steering lock,if it was my ‘vette they would properly repair it!!!

WHEEL LIFT TRUCK IS WHAT YOU NEED TO GET IT THERE.
